#10 The King Is Dead, Long Live The King

1. Find examples of situational irony.

The king expects amyas, his closest friend, to be saddened by his death. instead he finds that amyas is already busy trying to win favor with the new monarch. on the other hand, the king expects his jailed enemy to be gleeful about his death, but instead he overhears his enemy expressing regret.

2.Think about the people in the room with the king. Did anything happen that would foreshadow any events? The people in the room with the king realized that he was a bad person.

3.This story has several elements of a folktale. list them

Theres a spirit.
Theres a moral to the story.
The king has a missin to looking for three people.
That would like for him to live.

4. Write a paragraph explaining what this story is about.

The king is dead, Long live the king, is about a king that becomes very sick. a spirit came to him and told him to find three people that would spare his life. the king went to his wife only to find out that she was cheating on him, so they seperated. so the next person he to find was his bestfriend, then he found out the wife was cheating on him with the bestfriend. Everyone in the kingdom realized how much of a bad person he was.
