The Pardoner's Tales

The Pardoner's prologue.
1.  The Pardoner's Tale is a moral tale.  What is the moral? (line 5-8)
   The moral is that he have learned a lot and what he peach is always the same.2.  What does the Pardoner do for a living? (line 23-25)
    He pardons people's sins.3.  What is the Pardoner's attitude toward those who listen to him preach? (line 19-22)
    He preaches to them but if they don't listen he don't really care if they die none of what he said won't matter.4.  What is the irony in what the Pardoner does?
     He pardon's people's sin but he is sinning himself.
Read pp 144-151 and answer the seven questions written in blue in the margins.



The Pardoner's Tale
1. How might the rioter's drinking be affecting their judgment and behavior?
    Since the rioters are drunk they are disrupting the village searching for death. Upon finding death the rioters plan to kill death even though it is impossible. 
2. What accusations against the old man does the young man make?
   The young man accuses the old man of being a spy for death and working with him to attempt killing the younger people.
3. Do you think the young men will be blessed by fortune?
    Yes, I beleive the young man will be blessed by fortune. The youg man said that it's clear that fortune has betowed us this treasure to let us live in jollity and pleasure
4. What does the young man's plan suggest about human nature and the desire for money?
    The young man plan shows that humans will fight and kill for the pleasure of money.
5. Why does the devil have influence over the young man?
    The devil has persuasion to lure the young man from his kind thoughts and fill them with sorrow and perdition.
6. Why does the the pardoner say that the young men ''received their due''?
    The pardoner said that the young men received their due because they sinned and suffered in the end.
7. The pardoner reminds the other pilgrims that death may come to them at any time. Why does he emphasize this point?
     The Pardner is emphasizing that even with all the fortune that the pilgims have they can still die at any moment.
